Wotcher, Nosy.
Two whole months since I last invaded your inbox. I’m not going to say “have you missed me?” because when someone posts on LinkedIn being all “I bet you’re wondering where I’ve been!” I almost certainly have not been wondering where they’ve been.
And anyway, email etiquette says I should make this all about you, dear reader.
So would you like to learn how you can grow your freelance marketing business in 2025? You can get your link to join the session by putting your info here:

📅 Tuesday 17th June
⏰ 2pm BST
📽️ Zoom
💷 £0
⏺️ Recording available
It’s been a tricky year for many, so hopefully the session will spark some ideas, inspo and motivation for people. If you’re not yet freelance but it keeps winking at you, come along.
It’s a dream to do a webinar with The Marketing Meetup. It’s one of the first communities I got involved with when I went freelance (though as a copywriter I feel marketing-adjacent rather than a “proper” marketer) and now I work with the team too. They’re ace. Just genuinely good humans, or “positively lovely” as they’d say. I’m joined by my indie business club podcast co-host Ben to talk all about freelancing and consulting. In case you haven’t been to a TMM before, you aren’t on camera and it’s freeee. Come along and troll us with cheese chat in the comments.
Speaking of, I had a lovely gift in the post from Tamar at Gleanin. She sent me a glorious box of cheese to say thanks for helping with the Eventastic summit. Ben helped too and got some chocolate brownie donuts. What would you choose? Savoury or sweet?
I’m still somewhat fatigued after another epic trip to Newcastle for Atomicon. And by somewhat fatigued I mean absolutely kersplatted in the best way. Some people are a bit sneery about the event. I get why. There’s lots of pink, lots of women, lots of glitter. You could be forgiven for thinking it’s a Hunfest. But there was also a huge amount of excellent learning to be had. Rory Sutherland was a particular highlight and as a keen lil copywriter I sat right in the front row. Mesmerising.
If you want to come next year, please use my affiliate link 😘 It costs you the same amount of money but I get a few quid too. There’s a flash sale on at the moment.
I met a few people who brought porridge pots in their suitcase - something I talked about on the indie business club podcast during our episode The Day We Caught The Train: Conferences. Nice to know we’re making a difference 😆
Please subscribe to our podcast email list too, to hear about all our new episodes and behind-the-scenes intel 👇
And one last nag to come along tomorrow, it’d mean the world to see you there in the comments…
That’s all from me for now,
Mel x
